High-end steakhouse steaks are magical. They come out of the kitchen sizzling on the plate, and if you splurged on the truffle butter, it’s just starting to melt into the steak. The crispy crust is caramelized, perfectly seasoned, and the middle is juicy every single time.

Here’s the thing— steak can be just as magical at your house as it is at the steakhouse. Even without the chef and the special equipment. At Epicurean, we believe that gourmet cooking at home doesn’t need to be difficult or elaborate. Sometimes simple is better. Especially when you combine high-quality ingredients and the proper technique.

Our favorite gourmet dinner requires only a high-quality steak, a grill, salt, pepper, and Epicurean Black Truffle Butter.

  1. Season steaks liberally with salt and let rest at room temperature up to 40 minutes.
  2. Heat grill to high and clean and oil grilling grate.
  3. Place the steaks on the grill and cook until slightly charred, 4 to 5 minutes. Turn them over and continue to grill until deep char has developed and internal temperature is 125°F for medium-rare, 3 to 5 minutes, or 135°F for medium, 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. Transfer steaks to a cutting board and allow to rest for at least 5 minutes and up to 10.
  5. Top with a dollop of Epicurean Black Truffle butter and serve immediately.
