John and Janey Hubschman founded Colorado-based Epicurean Butter with a passion for quality food and cooking. When you’ve got a flavored butter like Epicurean, you’ll be as obsessed with making food as you are savoring the final product.
We believe butter can be the star ingredient. Just like we believe Beurre Blanc is simply a fancy name for (a really…really good) “butter sauce,” and anyone (yes, anyone) can make chicken piccata.

Janey met John in 1976 while working in a restaurant, where both of their loves for the food industry began. Their relationship continued, and so did their commitment to the culinary world. Before Epicurean Butter, Janey worked for specialty food distributors, where she polished her sales and customer service skills. Her relentless drive and congenial approach have resulted in continual growth for Epicurean Butter.
John served as an executive chef for fine dining restaurants for 20 years. In 2004, he and Janey developed the Epicurean Butter line of flavored butters to help home cooks prepare restaurant quality meals at home. John does all of the product development for Epicurean Butter’s branded line and custom blending. His culinary skills plus his commitment to the finest ingredients results in unforgettable taste. John graduated from the L’Academie De Cuisine in 1989.
